TourTicketCompare

Privacy policy

This page explains what information TourTicketCompare handles when you browse the site, leave an email address, or follow a ticket link.

Information the site collects

  • Email forms. The artist date-alert form and the price-drop “register interest” form collect the email address you enter. The site also stores the artist you chose, the page you submitted from, the referring page, your browser's user-agent string, a request key (see below) and the time of the signup. For price-drop interest it also records which date you were looking at. If you tick the optional weekly email box on the date-alert form, it also records that you agreed, the exact wording you agreed to, and when.
  • Site measurement. When you view a page or click a ticket button, the site's own server records the page, the referring site, any campaign tags in the link, the ticket site and event involved, your browser's user-agent string and the device type derived from it, page-load performance timings, and the time.
  • Ticket-link IDs. When you follow a ticket link, the server creates a random ID for that click. For supported affiliate links, it sends the ID to Impact as a SubId and stores it with the click record. The ID does not contain your name, email address or payment details. It can be used to match that click to an affiliate outcome reported by Impact; it is not an anonymous record once linked to the site's measurement data.
  • Request keys. A request key is a one-way hash of your IP address and user-agent. The same connection and browser always produce the same key, so it links records from one device across visits, not only within one, and it limits repeated form submissions. The raw IP address is not stored in these records.

Cookies and browser storage

Two third-party tags set cookies, and neither loads unless you accept cookies in the banner shown on your first visit: Google Tag Manager, which runs Google Analytics 4 to measure visits under Google's privacy policy, and the publisher tag of Impact, an affiliate network, which reports a page impression to Impact and may set its own cookies. If you reject, neither loads. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. TourTicketCompare sets no cookies of its own. It uses your browser's local storage to remember your cookie choice, session storage to group the pages of one visit, which is cleared when the tab closes, and local storage to remember your last choice in the currency converter. After you click through to a ticket site, that site or its affiliate network may set its own cookies so a purchase can be credited.

How the information is used

  • To run the site and its forms, and to email you about the artist you asked about if you joined a date alert.
  • To send a weekly email of presales and on-sales coming up, only if you ticked the optional box for it. Every email has a link to unsubscribe from all TourTicketCompare emails.
  • To count interest in price-drop emails. No price emails are sent; the count decides whether they are worth building.
  • To understand which pages, guides and ticket links are useful, and to measure clicks through affiliate links.
  • To investigate broken links, incorrect event details, abuse, and technical problems.

Who else handles it

  • Cloudflare hosts the site. It processes every request, including your IP address, to serve and protect the site, and stores the form and measurement records described above.
  • Google receives analytics data through Google Analytics, if you accept cookies.
  • Impact, an affiliate network, receives a page-impression request from each page you view through its publisher tag, if you accept cookies. Impact also receives the random click ID when you follow a supported affiliate ticket link, independently of whether its publisher tag loads. This is separate from the consent-gated page-impression tag described above. Impact and the ticket site's own privacy notices apply to information they collect after you follow a link.
  • Resend, an email delivery service, receives your email address and the content of the email when the site sends you an artist date alert or the weekly email you opted into, so that it can deliver it.
  • Ticket sites receive your visit when you click a ticket button. TourTicketCompare does not sell tickets or take payments, and never sees your checkout, payment or account details. Each ticket site's own privacy notice and terms apply there.

How long it is kept

Email signups are kept until you ask for them to be removed. Measurement records are kept for analysing trends over time and are not currently deleted on a fixed schedule.

Your choices and rights

You don't need to give an email address to use the site. To have your email address removed, or to ask what the site holds about you, email hello@tourticketcompare.com from the address concerned. You can accept or reject cookies with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page, block or clear cookies and storage in your browser settings, and use Google's browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics. If you're unhappy with how your information is handled, you can complain to your local data protection authority; in the UK, that is the Information Commissioner's Office.

This is a plain-language policy, not legal advice. It is updated when the site's data practices change.
